By now everybody is buzzing about McCain's VP pick, and from what I've been reading online there are a lot of mixed reviews about McCain's pick.
Below is what I wrote for the article on CNN.com:
On Is McCain out of his mind?
I think that Sarah Palin is not qualified enough to be one heartbeat away from the presidency. This really scares me because McCain isn't getting any younger, and if something happens to him health wise this is who will be running our country. This just shows how desperate the republicans are, they will put the country at risk like this. People are not going to vote for McCain just because his VP is a woman at least not me. Any wise American who truly cares about their country would not vote for McCain based on this.

Chicago students boycotting the first day of school

So what's the point really because school will still go on without these students right. I don't agree with this but you gotta do what you gotta do. First of all, I don't believe schools with more resources are going to take these students in from the city. I think that the reason for these schools in the burbs doing well is because for one their in a better area where property taxes are higher. Will these students who might enter these better schools in the burbs do well? That's what I want to know. I don't think there's anything wrong with the work being taught in Chicago public schools. If you ask me its one of the toughest in the state. Maybe students aren't getting the work being taught, maybe parents need to step up to the plate and help their kids more. The problem could also be that some towns like Chicago refuse to increase property taxes in order to get more resources into public schools.

Why did the concert after the BUD BILIKEN PARADE get CUT?

This year there was not a big concert in Washington Park after the parade. I guess due to all the violence in Chicago it had to be cut. Last year, they were shooting at the concert so I guess that the reason for it being cut. I could also be the fact that there was a lot of shooting going on during the taste of Chicago this year.
